Browsers

Hi all I have been a loyal user of the Opera net browser...has a lot of utilities et al. But recently i switched to mozilla firefox, man isn't it cooler..frills free, no ad tab or anything....But one utility i miss from opera in the "find in the page" search, it searches for the typed word in the page you are in. It is a very helpful util when you download long pages of information and wanna goto a particular part of it..Firefox does have this option, but you should go through edit--->find in this page, which of course is a bit boring thing to do.And i am used to having tabs at the page's bottom, so firefox' tab bar at the top isn't quite comfy, no option to change that. Firefox is definitely faster than Opera, atleast here, with my slow dial up connection. And its definitely better for offline browsing too. Some browsers tend not to dispaly images when you browse offline, but firefox is cool in this way too. If any of you know of a browser that is equally c...

Another day..

Hi all.. My sem exam starts this wednesday... Yesterday i finished an assignment, that is the longest i've ever written, it came upto 60 sides!!! This is the last assignment of my undergraduate course. The other day i went to library, it had a bill that prescribed the dress code for students, which said "students shall not wear 6-pocket jeans.."among other rules. I dont really get the point. What if a student wears 5-pocket or rather 8? How can this become anybody's problem? Read something about sudoku in yesterday's 'the Hindu'...its gaining popularity crazy it seems.. cool.. ok then...will start with my wirless digital communication now.. Byee

I went to a lot of labs!!

Hi all.. Today let me recall some moments in labs all through these semesters...now that all labs are getting done with... What?no more labs..?No more fun?hmmm.... #1 Semester: 3 Subject: electronic devices lab. batch: me, devi and kalaharan Now about the uniqueness of this group, in each lab class we used to break atleast one component...maybe an IC or a transistor, an opamp , absolutely anything..but the unwritten rule was that we break something.... During the Zener diode voltage regulator experiment, we made this dumbest mistake of connecting +5v power supply to the ground or interchanged pins of 'p' lead and 'n' lead....i dont remember exaclty... The bridge rectifier got extremely heated up....now alittle bit about the structure and look of the bridge rect ic, it's shape is diamond with one blunt edge, with a reasonable surface area.... Even before we could realize it was getting hot, something arose from the top surface of the IC, it was black i...
